Gingerbread Men

    Ingredients -

  • 225g plain flour, plus extra for dusting
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 heaped tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 100g soft brown sugar
  • 100g golden syrup

    Method -

  1. Heat oven to 190C/170Cfan/gas5 and line baking tray with baking parchment.

  2. Sieve the flour, salt, bicarb, ginger and cinnamon into a large bowl.

  3. Heat the butter, sugar and syrup until dissolved.

  4. Leave the sugar mixture to cool slightly, then mix into the dry ingredients to form a dough.

  5. Chill the dough in the fridge for 30 mins.

  6. On a surface lightly dusted with flour, roll out the dough to a ¼-inch thickness.

  7. Stamp out the gingerbread men shapes with a cutter, then re-roll any off-cuts and repeat.

  8. Place your gingerbread shapes on the lined trays, allowing space for them to spread.

  9. Cook for 10-15 mins, then remove from the oven and leave to cool.

JANUARY LOCKDOWN INFORMATION

Well, we find ourselves in another lockdown, but whilst schools are closed and only open to Keyworkers and vulnerable children preschool is open as usual.

We do appreciate that some of you may not feel confident sending your children in so we will be putting some links to online activities you might like to try. We have also organised two Zooms each week (you should all have been sent the links) which you are more than welcome to join with your child.

We really hope that we will soon be back to normal so we can all be together again.

STAY SAFE.  We are still here so reach out if you need any extra support or help/advice with anything.

REMINDER

For those who have children due to start reception this September the dead line for applying for a place is Friday 15th January. Please contact the school office if you need support with this.

To all our Preschool families,

Thank you so much for all our lovely Christmas gifts.

We hope you have had a lovely Christmas, we wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all week commencing 5th January.

PRESCHOOL 2020/2021

Welcome to all our preschool families old and new.

The children are all settling really well, and the staff are enjoying getting to know them.

We are very proud of how they are coping with being dropped off at the gate and walking across to their rooms by themselves, Once inside they find their own pegs and hang up their bags and coats, then wash their hands, ready to start the day.

We are looking forward to working to gether with you, and supporting the children as they learn and develop in our fun filled, play based environment.

Please click on your child's preschool room below to see what we have been getting up to.
