It is the final week of Spring 1 and what a term it has been, squeezing in everything about space as well as Energy Saving Week, Safer Internet Day, Mental Health Week and Valentine's day too.  

This week is just as busy with our Space Wow Day on Wednesday - we are looking forward to seeing all the children dress up in their space outfits. It does not have to be complicated - stick on a planet and come as Jupiter for example. We also have a special visitor who will be showing us around space using special VR headsets. What a fab way to complete our space topic. As the nights become a tad shorter, we hope that you have taken some time to look out at the stars and the moon and perhaps even a planet. 

Literacy: We will be completing the Aliens Love Underpants story by having a go at learning it and saying it using the story map we made last week. We will also change the story slightly by adding our own ideas. Later in the week we will be looking at Famous astronauts and choosing our favourite one. 

Phonics: This week we will be learning the sounds ur  ow  oi  ear - again please do have a look at the Little Wandle website for tips on pronunciation on the parent page. 

Maths: we will review our learning over the term and consolidating our counting, subitising, odd and even number recognition and counting to 20 as well as identifying the numbers. 

Topic: This week we will be looking at St Valentine and thinking about being kind, brave, caring and showing empathy to others.
