Week 3

Reception are reading a very famous book this week and we are sure that you have read this many times already. It is a classic read-a-long book by the wonderful Michael Rosen. Of course, it is ...

We love this book and it is brilliant for reading out loud, doing actions, finding adjectives, exploring verbs and has lots of humour and suspense.

We will create a story map as well as innovate the story with our own ideas. We are starting to write captions to go with pictures and we will be having our very own Bear Hunt in our outdoor area!

In phonics we will be reviewing phase 3 GPCs: ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, oo, ow, oi, and ear.

Our maths sessions will involve comparing numbers to 10 and then 20 and simple addition and subtraction by working out 1 more and 1 less than a number.

Wanted: toilet roll inners or kitchen roll inners. We are hoping to make binoculars for hunting in our junk modelling area later in the week so if you have any at home, could you please send them in for us. It would be great for all the children to make a pair of carboard binoculars for our bear hunting activity. Thank you so much!

Going on a Bear Hunt week!
