Week 6

Into the final couple of weeks of Summer 2...where has this term gone. We have had our transition day and the children are excited about their new classes. Do keep talking about it in a positive manner with your children and put up the Hello cards on your fridge or in their bedroom so that the children know what to expect after the holidays. If you have any questions, please let us know and we will do our best to answer them.

This week is starting with a trip to the local Co-op with a shopping list of fruits so that we can make some healthy smoothies.

Phonics: This week we will focus on writing a sentence. One of the goals for reception children is to be able to write a sentence phonically which can be read by others, so we will have a go each day at writing a simple sentence.

Literacy: We carry on with information texts and this week, we have a go at writing our own fact file about the different types of teeth.

Maths: This week we have a go at creating our own maps. We wonder if you have had a go at creating a map of your bedroom yet. Send them into us and we will have a look and see if we can work out what it looks like in 3D.

Special days: 10th July - Teddy's Bear Picnic Day, 12th July - Malala Day, 14th July - Disability awareness Day.

A Gentle Reminder:

  • water is the best drink your child can have and at school we ask that children have water bottles filled with water only

  • please send any reading books back to school for next week, the reading for pleasure books will be available up to Wednesday next week

  • we will start to send belongings home from next week such as wellies and art works, so please do check book bags
