This is a beautiful book, by Eric Carle, on which we base our learning this week. We are getting to be experts on bears. We have learned about their habitats, their food, what they like to do in the wild and all about hibernation.
Phonics: We will carry on reviewing the phase 3 phonemes as well as having a go at reading longer words, compound words and words ending in -ing.
Literacy: We are reading the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle. We will explore the repeating phrases and practise retelling the story. We are also looking at writing lists and short sentences.
Maths: We look at 3D shapes and explore the ways they stack and roll. We have a go at recognising the different types of 3D shapes and naming them.
Topic: We look at how bears can be endangered and explore ways of protecting them and their habitats.
Please remember it is Parent's evening this week on Tuesday and Thursday after school. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to bring your questions and we will try and answer them as best as we can.
Take a look at what we have been up to this week! We especially loved our bear hunt we went on.
Secret Reader
This week the secret reader in Cherry class was Erin's dad.
