We can't hold it off any longer and now that December is finally here, we can begin the fun and joy that comes with learning all about Christmas!
We have begun to look at the first story of Christmas - The Nativity. The story of baby Jesus has been new to some of the children and we had some interesting talks about it including the strange gifts given to baby Jesus by the three wise men and the difference between fairies and angels! In literacy we created a story map of the Nativity and are going to try to retell the story ourselves.
Other fun things have included making see saws outside and exploring new ways of developing our physical skills. Despite the weather, we still enjoy going outside. In the light of this please remember to provide wellies and warm waterproof coats as our Reception outdoor area is open all the time despite the rain, snow, wind, sun and any other weather that manifests itself!
