It is a new week as we carry on with our fabulous food topic. The children are enjoying our Pizza roleplay area making pizzas, serving each other, paying for pizza and making up new flavours. There are lots of enthusiastic learners on our Prestwood Pizzaria. In the home corner, lots of role play imitating home life is also happening. Our little learners are cooking and prepping food and meals that they like to eat at home. We have lots of food books for the children to look at.
Our book this week is Oliver's Vegetables by Vivian French. We discussed the types of vegetables that we have tried. Lots of Apple class had tried spinach and liked it a lot. Rhubarb crumble was also very popular. Oliver tried lots of different things in the book, perhaps you can ask your little ones what he ate and see if they can remember. Maybe they can try it too. One of the children had said they had tried beetroot but didn't like it and we talked about trying food lots of times before we get used to it.
We are also dipping our toes into the wonderful world of phonics where we will be looking at the sounds s a t p
In maths we are looking at counting 1:1, conservation of number and subitising.
Check out what we have been up to this week!
