The planets are our focus this week as we learn the order of the planets from the Sun and then we look more closely at Mercury, Venus and Earth. We hope that you will be amazed at the facts the children can remember so please do ask them questions about what they have been learning.
Phonics: we are learning the phase 3 sounds ur ow oi ear and the tricky words by my all
Literacy: As we learn about the planets above we will make posters to help us remember the facts and use our new space vocabulary to talk about the different characteristics of each planet.
Maths: In maths this week, we will explore the term 'mass' and compare different masses using the words 'heavy' and 'light' or 'heavier' and 'lighter'.
Topic: We look up at the skies and learn about stars. What are they and what are the names of different types of stars. We also look at some of the constellations in the night sky that you could try and spot one evening.
