Space Travel & the Moon
As we await news from the aliens and their possible response to the helpful map we have created for them, we will move on to looking further beyond Prestwood and the earth and off into space. We have discovered that atlases contain maps and that the UK is only one country among many. We have looked at the Earth using Google Earth and become familiar with our addresses so that we can look at the street we live in and perhaps spot our homes. This week we explore what astronauts do as well as learning facts about the moon.
Phonics: oo (long) oo (short) ar and or. Tricky words: was you they
Literacy: We are learning moon facts and taking part in the Cosmic classroom with Tim Peake
Maths: We are looking at the composition of numbers 4 and 5
Topic: As it is the Lunar New Year at the weekend (Sun 22nd Jan) we are learning all about it.
