Phonics

Start by practising your sounds to warm your brain up. Don't forget to do the actions as well!

Today we are going to explore how the "ow" sound can be different depending on what word it is in:

  • In the word "cow" it makes the "ow" sound that we know
  • In the word "blow" it makes the "oa" sound.

Have a go at reading the words in the document below and decide whether the "ow" letters in the word make the "ow" sound or the "oa" sound. Cut them out and put them into groups.

Now choose a selection of words and put them into some exciting sentences.

We look forward to reading them :)
