World Book Day - Friday 8th March

As we are fast approaching World Book Day we would like to let you know about all of the exciting things that we have planned for the children. Our school World Book Day will take place on Friday 8th March. We would love children to dress up as their favourite book character. There will be a costume parade for the whole school to take part in and a winner from each year group will receive a prize. If you would like to make a voluntary contribution of £1 towards our school library we would be very grateful.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes will be having a visit from a famous author named Cate Douglas. Cate will be available in the hall at the end of the day to sell her book "Poppy's Tail" and a matching tail if you wish! Please see the attached letter for information on pre-ordering her book if you would like to do so beforehand. Copies will be available to purchase on the day too.

Year Two will be taking on a very responsible role and will have the opportunity to read to the younger children and share their favourite stories. They are then going to explore how to make their own picture books for children in Reception and Year One. We have some budding authors just waiting to showcase their talent.

There are many more exciting activities that will take place throughout the day and we look forward to an action packed day!

If you have any questions please contact your child's teacher or the school office.
