Today we are going to be learning all about, counting in 10s. Have a look at the hundred square below, can you remember where all of the "Tens" numbers are? These are the numbers that don’t have any ones- they are a tens number and a zero in the ones column.

 

Hopefully you noticed that they are all down the right hand side of the hundred square, can you say each of these numbers? (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 60, 70, 80, 90, 100). This is how we count in 10s! 

 

Each time we say one of these numbers, we are adding 10. Put your finger on 10 and count 10 jumps on the 100 square, it will get you to the next 10s number (20). Check that this works for all of the tens numbers, be careful when you coun't the jumps that you don't count your starting number. 

 

Independent Task: Have a go at saying and writing down the tens numbers in order. If you would like to you could have a go at this sheet- cutting out the tens numbers and sticking them in order.
