Do you remember our learning yesterday about finding half? 

Today we are going to grow our brains even more and learn about quarters. When something is split into quarters, there are 4 equal parts.

Have a look at this circle- it has been split into 4 equal parts, 4 quarters. 

 

 

If I were to colour in one quarter it would look like this: 

 

Independent task: Have a look at the shapes in the document below, can you colour a quarter? Your grown up could print them out for you or you could draw some new shapes together. 

Extra challenge question: What would happen if you were to colour in two quarters? What is this the same as?
