Today we are going to be matching objects to numbers from 1 to 20. 

Before you begin you will need:

  • 20 small objects e.g Lego bricks, counters, cars
  • 1 - 20 number cards

Start by making number cards by writing the numbers 0 - 20 on index cards or small pieces of paper. Ask your grown up to mix the cards around for you. Now try and order the numbers from 0 - 20. If you are finding this difficult then start by doing numbers from 0 - 5 or 0 - 10. 

 

You should now have a number line in front of you starting from 0 going up to 20. Which ones are the teen numbers? How do we know they are teen numbers?

 

Mix them around again and see if you can take out just the teen numbers this time, can you spot them all?
