The class read the book Handa's Surprise and used masks to retell the story.
Handa filled a basket with fruit to take to her friend Akeyo.
As she walked along, a monkey took the banana
An ostrich took the guava
A zebra took the orange
An elephant took the mango
A giraffe took the pineapple
An antelope took the avacado
And a parrot took the passion fruit.
As Handa passed a tree, a grumpy goat ran into it and shook it
A pile of tangerines fell into the basket - my favourite said Akeyo!
