Have a look at the PowerPoint/book “Police Officer”. Do you think this is fiction or non-fiction? Remember the features of non-fiction texts (like in our Tigers book).
Is a police officer a superhero? Why/why not? (Think back to our definitions yesterday). Discuss your answer with your grown-up. This is your opinion – there is no right or wrong answer.
Independent task: Write a list of all the equipment that a police officer needs to help the do their job. We did read about this – use the contents to find the right page to help you.
A list is usually single words or short phrases with each idea written on a new line.
Extra challenge: Can you explain why a police officer would need each item on your list? You could write that like this:
First aid kit in case someone has hurt themselves.
Radio to talk to the control centre.
