Today we are going to create our own four line poem that rhymes.

It can take a long time to come up with a poem much longer than writing a whole story!

Let's look at the word sky and one of the words that rhyme with it high

We could put them into a poem like this:

Fires burning bright in the sky

Sparks floating way up high

Now look at the word ash and write a line with ash at the end:

Dropping as a blanket of ash

What word rhymes with ash? You could use mash:

Covering everything like a mash

When you put your four lines together you have your four line poem.

Fires burning bright in the sky

Sparks floating way up high

Dropping as a blanket of ash

Covering everything like a mash

Your mission today is to write your own four line poem using the word bank you created yesterday.

Please send in any examples of your work we could love to see them!
