  • Switch to remote learning for ALL pupils - Monday 25th January

Sun 24 Jan 2021 Jo Nichol

Due to the health and safety issues caused from the recent snow and the further risk of ice, we will be switching to remote learning tomorrow for ALL pupils, including Preschool.

Please access all lessons from home and do not attempt to travel to the school tomorrow as there will be no staff on site. We hope to be back up and running our in-school provision on Tuesday but will of course let you know if this changes.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

  • Free First Aid Sessions for Children

Tue 12 Jan 2021 Jo Nichol
Take a look at the flyer below for information about free first aid lessons for children. Every year, we invite "Mini First Aid" to come into school to teach our children basic first aid skills. As we are unable to do that at the moment, this is something that would be extremely beneficial.
  • EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSURE

Mon 04 Jan 2021 Jo Nichol

Prestwood Junior and Infant schools will remain closed Tuesday 5th January to ALL pupils. Pre school will remain open as usual following Government guidance. Due to the late notice of the announcement made last night, we need the day in order to fully implement our online learning as well as identify which children may qualify as key workers and vulnerable children. We apologise for the inconvenience and will be in touch tomorrow.
  • Track and Trace Over Christmas

Thu 17 Dec 2020 Jo Nichol

    Dear Parents/Carers,

The DFE have suggested that we take  Friday 18th December as a non teaching day - and staff will make up the day across the Spring and Summer terms. This is to allow 6 days of track and trace up to the 23rd December.

Prestwood Village schools will break up for the Christmas holidays on Thursday 17th December - After school provision will be available to those parents needing this.

Teachers will not be setting work for the children to do.

If a child develops symptoms and consequently tests positive between Friday 18th December and Wednesday 23rd December, please contact the School Office via email. Staff will then be in touch with the rest of the bubble if this is deemed necessary. We obviously hope this will not happen but we do need to be prepared.

No staff will be in school after the end of the day on 17th either which means there will be no childcare available at school on Friday 18th December for ANY children.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and late notice but have only just been told ourselves and thought we should pass on the message as soon as possible.

    Miss Cook

  • Remembrance Day

Fri 06 Nov 2020 Jo Nichol
The children at Prestwood Infant School have been learning about "Remembrance Day" and the history behind this. Each class has made a beautiful wreath to pay our respects. Usually, a representative from the school would lay the wreath on Remembrance Sunday. Unfortunately, due to the current situation, we are unable to do this. However, the wreaths have been laid on our behalf and we are really proud to share with you the photos of these:

  • Time Capsules

Mon 20 Apr 2020 Jo Nichol
Why not make your own time capsule to bury. In years to come, someone else may dig it up and find out all about what you have been doing. Please visit the "Whole School Home Learning" section of the website to find the resources needed to do this. We cannot wait to hear all about them and see some picture. Have fun!
