We have had a great start to the term and the children are already showing their excitement for all the new learning.  

Our new topic is...Pirates!! We will be learning about famous pirates from around the world whilst also getting a better understanding of key features of a pirate and its crew. 

In English we will continue using Talk for Writing, this term we will be focussing on settings. We will describe different settings and have the opportunity to use our imaginations to create our own settings. 

In Maths, we are now moving on to our next module,  Shape. We will revise the names of some 2D and 3D shapes, whilst also looking at new learning such as naming the number of faces, edges and vertices on a shape. In maths, we have been looking at 3D shapes.  We have been learning all about the common 3D shapes and their properties.  We have been using lots of new mathematical language such as faces, vertices and edges. 

In English we have been looking at our topic which is Pirates.  This week we have been setting our own scenes in our Pirate stories.  We have had to create a ‘toolkit’ which has helped us identify the key things we have needed to include in our writing. 

In Art this week we have been exercising our fine motor skills threading needles, tying knots and sewing.  We have some avid sewers
