The second week is all about kings and queens from history to the present day. We have been very fortunate to have seen the recent coronation of our new King Charles and we will take a look at the royal family and some of the ways that life has changed over time. It might a great opportunity for you to have a look at your own family tree with your children to see how your family has developed and changed over the years.
Phonics: We move on with Phase 4 and practise reading words containing long vowel sounds. We will review learned Tricky words and practise spelling them.
Literacy: This week we look at some British kings and queens through time. We discover who is a part of our current royal family and what they do.
Maths: We explore weights and measure capacity. We describe containers as full, half full and empty and learn to measure in non standard units.
Topic: We will be taking part in the multiskills reception tournament this week but hopefully we will be able to squeeze in a session learning about the different types of people who live and work in a castle from the Lord to the knights.
Some of the things we have been doing this week.
